Born in Zimbabwe, he went on to sprint for the University of Guelph Gryphons, where his 6.88 in the 60 metres in 2019 was the second fastest among OUA sprinters and tied for fifth fastest in U SPORTS. His 60 metres personal best is 6.81 seconds, and he competes for Canada. Campers train with a sprinter whose journey runs from Zimbabwe to Edmonton to the national stage. |\u003cbr\u003eRyder Rattee | U SPORTS Sprinter (Alberta Golden Bears) — 2026 U SPORTS Athlete of the Year | https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0646\/7420\/1752\/files\/Ryder_Rattee.webp?v=1790608180 | Ryder Rattee is a sprinter for the University of Alberta Golden Bears and the men's recipient of the 2026 Lois and Doug Mitchell U SPORTS Athlete of the Year Award. At the 2026 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships he won gold in the 300 metres, 600 metres and 4x400-metre relay, setting Golden Bears records in all three events, and he was named Canada West Male Track Athlete of the Year. From just outside Edmonton, he has also earned opportunities with Canada's senior track and field program.
